Elderberry Syrup Recipe
Makes about 2 cups Elderberry Syrup
3.5 cups water
2/3 cup dried elderberries
Sweetener to taste, about 1/2 cup - raw honey, agave, maple syrup, etc.
Mix elderberries and water in a medium saucepan.
Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to a simmer for 45 minutes.
Inhale and revel in the smell of elderberries!
Remove from heat and let cool.
Once it's cool enough to handle, strain the liquid into a large glass mason jar or bowl. Mash the berries left behind with a large spoon to get that extra-rich elderberry liquid, adding it to the vessel.
Mix in your preferred amount of sweetener. Stir and taste to get it just right.
Enjoy it warm and fresh, then seal and store in the fridge for up to a month.
